In Kirlian photography of a finger, the high-frequency power distribution causes the current to flow primarily on the skin surface rather than through the body. Most of the applied power is dissipated in the corona. The energy is expressed in a wide range of radiation, including components of the ultraviolet, visible, infrared and electromagnetic (radio & television) spectrum, as well as the electrical discharge.
